After-Tan Instructions

Post-application care to maximize tan depth and longevity.

After-tan instructions are the rules a client follows between application and the first rinse to maximize the bronze depth and the subsequent care to maximize how long the tan lasts. During the development window (2–10 hours depending on solution): no sweating, no water exposure, no tight clothing, no exercise, no hot environments. The client wears loose dark clothes home, sleeps on dark sheets if overnight, and avoids any moisture. At rinse time: lukewarm water only, no soap, no scrubbing, no shaving — the bronzer washes off (this is normal) but the actual tan keeps developing for another 12–24 hours. After the first rinse: daily moisturizer extends the tan, no exfoliation, short lukewarm showers, no chlorine pools, no hot tubs, no waxing or laser. With proper aftercare, a classic spray tan lasts 8–10 days. Without it, fade can begin within 4 days. Bronzly automatically sends after-tan instructions via SMS at booking confirmation and again at the rinse-reminder window so clients have the rules in hand at every critical moment.
