1. Step 1

   Send prep instructions 24 hours before the appointment

   Bronzly automatically sends an SMS 24 hours before every booking with the standard prep checklist. Customize the template once with your studio's exact rules; Bronzly sends it on every appointment from then on.

2. Step 2

   Confirm shaving and waxing timing

   Shaving: at least 12 hours before the appointment. Waxing: at least 24 hours before (open follicles cause dark dotting). Laser hair removal: at least 48 hours before. Include these specifics in the prep SMS.

3. Step 3

   Confirm exfoliation 12 hours before

   Client should exfoliate with a gentle scrub or exfoliating mitt 12 hours before the appointment — not day-of (residual scrub on skin causes uneven uptake). Recommend a non-oil-based scrub; oil residue blocks DHA.

4. Step 4

   Day-of: no moisturizer, deodorant, perfume, makeup, or lotion

   All five create barriers that prevent DHA from reaching skin evenly. Most uneven-tan complaints trace back to invisible day-of moisturizer or deodorant residue. Repeat this rule in the day-of confirmation SMS Bronzly sends 4 hours before the appointment.

5. Step 5

   Loose dark clothes and flip-flops to the appointment

   Tight clothes (jeans, leggings, fitted tops) press into wet solution and cause streaking. Closed-toe shoes (boots, sneakers) leave a cuff line at the ankle. Tell the client to wear black or dark loose layers and flip-flops or sandals.

6. Step 6

   Use the Bronzly intake form to flag contraindications

   Bronzly's intake captures pregnancy, eczema, recent waxing, recent sunburn, and known allergies before the appointment. Flagged contraindications surface on your appointment screen so you can adjust solution choice or recommend rescheduling without an in-person surprise.
