Spray Tan Insurance

Liability insurance covering DHA reactions, slip-and-fall, and equipment claims.

Spray tan insurance is professional liability insurance covering claims related to spray tan service: allergic reactions to DHA or solution additives, slip-and-fall injuries in the studio, equipment-related property damage, and general liability. Annual premiums for solo artists typically run $200–$500/year; multi-staff studios run $600–$2,000/year. Major providers in the US include InsureBee, Beauty & Bodywork Insurance (BBI), Insurance Canopy, and PROtect Insurance. Most providers require certification from a recognized program (Norvell, Sjolie, Aviva, NAHA) as a condition of coverage. Certificate of insurance (COI) is also required by most landlords for studios renting commercial space. Mobile spray tan artists need a specific endorsement covering off-premises work — standard policies often exclude in-home services without the endorsement.
