Deposit

A deposit is a pre-paid amount the client provides at the time of booking to secure the appointment slot. In spray tan, deposits typically range $10–$25 for standard appointments and $25–$75 for competition or party bookings. Deposits are applied to the final service charge if the client shows up, or forfeited per policy if they no-show. Bronzly handles deposits via Stripe Connect: the deposit is captured immediately at booking and recorded against the appointment. For higher-value bookings (parties, weddings), Bronzly supports authorization holds — the full estimated amount is authorized on the card without being captured, then captured automatically at the appointment time or released if the client cancels in-policy. Deposits are the single most effective tool for reducing no-show rates: industry data shows the rate falling from 12–18% without deposits to 2–4% with mandatory deposits.
