No-Show Fee

Charge applied via card-on-file when a client misses an appointment without canceling.

A no-show fee is a charge applied to a client's card-on-file when they fail to appear for a scheduled appointment without canceling. Industry-standard no-show fees in spray tan range $35–$75, with $50 the most common default. Without a no-show policy, spray tan studios lose 12–18% of bookings to no-shows on average. With a card-on-file no-show fee enforced via Bronzly, that rate falls to 2–4%. Many studios split the no-show fee — the studio keeps half, and half goes to the staff member who was scheduled, since they lost the wage opportunity. Bronzly's appointment workflow allows the artist to tap a 'No Show' flag on the appointment card, which automatically captures the no-show fee from the saved card via Stripe Connect. The fee is itemized on the client's receipt as 'No-show fee per booking policy' to reduce dispute risk. Bronzly's default policy is configurable per studio.
